1. der Turm (tower) | At 16 years old he sees a tower standing in Ranft. In it he recognises his goal to search for a united being. |
2. die Feuerflammen (flames) | He sees the words of the selfish men of the council come out of their mouths as burning flames. |
3. die Lilie (lilly) | He sees a lilly growing out of his mouth grow towards the sky. His horse distracts him from his prayers. The lilly slopes and is engulfed by the horse. |
4. die reinigende Feile (file) | He finds comfort in contemplating the sufferings of Christ and receives threefold gratitudes from heaven |
5. die Wolke (cloud) | The voice out of the cloud is urging him to resign himself to whatever the lord has intendend for him. |
6. die vier Lichter (four lights) | He sees four lights coming from the sky. They point the way to Ranft and indicate the place for his house and his chapel. |
7. der Brunnen (foutain) | In his mind he reaches the fountain of life. He sees the well, surprised, no one scooping from it and recognises himself in the flowing water. |
