Already in the year 1649, at the time when Niklaus Götschi re-built the old pilgrims inn "Kreuz", the "Farbhaus" was located in the close neighbourhood. The building belongs to one of the oldest houses in Switzerland. Its core dates back to the year 1270. It is therefore older than the Swiss Confederation. The "Farbhaus" is part of the architectural and cultural heritage of the canton of Obwalden. For many centuries it has been part of the Hotel Kreuz. Inside are four hotel rooms and several snuggeries, where you are still able to feel the spirit of the old confederation.
